Student answer (Band 6.0)
Tourism is increasing all the over the world. More number of people are choosing to explore places with harsh weather conditions. There are both advantages and disadvantages of visiting such places, I will discuss both pros and cons in this essay.
On one hand, there are several advantages when people visit places like Antarctica and Sahara dessert. Firstly, people become more aware of the lifestyle and culture of the native people. During their visits tourists get the chance to know about their local cuisines, art, and culture. Additionally, how these people used to live and survive in those difficult conditions. This will give the opportunity to understand and accept different cultures in order to develop strong connections with each other. Secondly, visitors who are adventurous and are in tourism industry, these places will give them chance to embrace their adventures and help them to provide knowledge to the world about these places. For example, travellers these days used to record their tour destinations and show to the world via youtube, instagram. To widespread the beauty and truth abouth these tour destinations. This allows other to come, explore, and feel the real world at these places and simulatneously boosting the economy of these states.
On the other hand, there are certain disadvantages, firstly weather conditions are not suitable for every one. Temperatures at such places are too high or too low which may cause difficulties for the visitors to survive there. For example, when people are not used to such varied temperatures they might develop certain health risks such as heart attack or become oxygen deficient. However, choosing such places for tourism is not the right choice for everyone. Secondly, when more number of people visits to these places, this may also contribute in making weather worse. When number of tourists rises the number of vehicles along with fuel rate also rises, which indirectly contributing in damaging the environment to a certain extent. Therefore, impacting the environment gives rise to global warmong and ozone depletion which is causing burden on the natural climate of these places.
In conclusion, although there are several advantages of exploring the places with difficult conditions but there are disadvantages which are impacting the environment and are dangerous for our health also. It is very important to consider the health condition of an individual before choosing these places to visit.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both sides of the question and maintain a clear overall view: difficult destinations can offer cultural and adventurous experiences, but they also pose health and environmental risks. Relevant examples, such as learning about local food and culture and the effects of increased vehicle use, help support these points. This meets the task well, although some ideas are more fully explained than others. The cultural benefits are described in general terms, and the link between tourism and “global warming and ozone depletion” is asserted rather than clearly explained. The discussion of health risks would also be stronger with a more precise example of how visitors can be affected. Develop each main point with a clear cause-and-effect explanation or a specific example to make the response more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” makes the direction of the discussion easy to follow. Within paragraphs, however, the progression is sometimes mechanical, relying heavily on “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Additionally.” Some connections are also unclear: “Additionally, how these people used to live and survive” is not a complete continuation of the preceding sentence, while “To widespread the beauty…” is left as a fragment. The final sentence of the advantages paragraph also combines several outcomes without clearly showing how they relate. Use complete sentences and vary linking methods by making the relationship between each idea explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “harsh weather conditions,” “native people,” “adventurous,” and “environment,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “oxygen deficient” and “varied temperatures.” However, noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems reduce precision: “more number of people,” “Sahara dessert,” “widespread the beauty,” “global warmong,” and “simulatneously” are inaccurate or misspelled. Some wording is also vague or repetitive, particularly repeated references to “these places.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. Replacing general phrases with precise terms for the destination, its climate, and the effects of tourism would make the argument clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex structures, including conditional phrasing (“when people are not used to such varied temperatures”) and a contrast introduced by “although.” The main message is generally understandable, but errors in sentence formation and grammatical control are noticeable. For example, “Additionally, how these people used to live and survive” is a fragment, and “To widespread the beauty…” is another incomplete sentence. There are also problems with agreement and verb forms in “when more number of people visits” and “which indirectly contributing.” The opening sentence joins two independent clauses with a comma, and the conclusion’s “although” clause is not smoothly completed. Practise building complete sentences around each idea, checking subject–verb agreement, and using conjunctions to connect clauses accurately.
