Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the question, identifying benefits such as experiencing distinctive landscapes and cultures and developing confidence, and disadvantages including harsh weather, expense and limited medical care. These points are relevant, but several are only briefly stated: for instance, the claim that travel builds problem-solving ability is not supported with an example, and the environmental impact mentioned in the conclusion is not explained in the body. The response also contains 245 words, five below the required minimum; the 12 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation or specific example, and ensure the response meets the minimum length.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph on disadvantages and a concluding sentence. Transitions such as “For example,” “Furthermore,” and “However” help signal the relationship between ideas. However, progression within the disadvantages paragraph becomes difficult to follow because several points are joined into one long sentence, moving from temperatures to cost and medical access without clear separation. Some linking is also mechanical, and the conclusion is attached to the preceding discussion rather than set out clearly. Use separate sentences and paragraphs for distinct disadvantages, and make each transition show the precise relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “natural environments,” “landscapes,” “remote environments,” “extreme weather,” and “medical equipment.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and there are attempts at more specific language such as “personal development.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are frequent, including “Resently,” “experince,” “glacies,” and “defficult.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “taking their tourists visits” and “the confort and peace of the tourists,” which can make meaning less clear. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations—for example, “take a trip,” “harsh conditions,” and “pose a threat to visitors’ safety.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a relative clause in “places where they are finding journey very difficult” and a conditional-style explanation of medical access. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms sometimes make the reader work to understand the message. Examples include “tourists that visits,” “extreme weather condition can seriously effects,” and “Antarctica has freezing temperatures that may leed.” The final disadvantage sentence is especially difficult to follow because clauses are joined without clear punctuation. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, and divide long sentences into shorter, complete clauses. More reliable control of these structures is needed.
