Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the question: the benefit is gaining unusual experiences and learning about local life, while the disadvantage is risk to health and safety. Your position is clear in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development is uneven and some points are not closely connected to tourists visiting extreme environments. The claim that visitors can “get idea to start any business” and help places grow through services is not explained, while the example about international students in Canada, the United States and London is less relevant than an example involving tourists in the Sahara or Antarctica. To strengthen the response, explain specific benefits and risks for these visitors and support each with a directly relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “To begin with benefits,” “For example,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the main sections. Overall progression is clear, but connections within paragraphs are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For instance, the move from learning about local culture to starting a business, then to providing services, is not fully explained. The example about students also interrupts the focus on tourists in difficult environments. Use linking phrases to show how each example supports its point, and make sure pronouns such as “they” have an unmistakable reference.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “unique and unforgettable experiences,” “unpredictable,” “health and safety,” and “emergency medical treatment.” These choices communicate the general ideas, but the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or spellings make parts of the response difficult to understand. Examples include “Shara,” “desitination,” “serviving,” “tempreature,” and “impcat.” Phrases such as “explore unique and unforgettable experience” and “merits is extreme weather conditions” are also unnatural or imprecise. Build a more accurate set of topic-specific expressions and check spelling and collocations carefully; this will make your meaning clearer and more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including the relative clause “places where conditions are hardest” and the sentence beginning “Although visiting places with extreme weather conditions offers…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “most of tourists like” needs a different article pattern, while “which can be take more time” has an incorrect verb construction. The opening sentence also joins several ideas without a clear grammatical structure. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and checking each clause, especially when combining ideas with “because,” “which” and “although.”
