Dear Sir,

I am writing to provide a feedback about your company's generous proposal to spend money in local area project. It is wonderful that the company want to invest in neighbourhood and I want to share my thoughts on both the options.

Sponsoring a money in children's sports team is significant, long term advantages. It offers children's essential equipment, uniform kits and safe training facilities. Regular physical activity promotes healthy life-styles and teaches a vital life skills such as teamwork, discipline and resilience.

On the other hand, funding money in a two open-air concerts offers different, immediate benefits. A concerts bring a community together to share cultural experiences and pride. This concert will attract visitors who spend money at nearby restaurants, cafes and shops. It will accessible entertainment for people of all age groups and background to enjoy high-quality live music.

While both options have merits, but I believe that the company should invest money on children's sports team, which is benefits for health and future of our local youth, whereas a concert series for temporary entertainment.

Thank you for looking to consider a public's input

Yours faithfully,

Asha

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

The response addresses all three bullet points of the prompt effectively. You have clearly described the benefits of the sports team, summarized the advantages of the concerts, and provided a clear recommendation. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter. To reach a higher band, ensure that your ideas are fully developed; for instance, while you mention the benefits of the sports team, adding a specific example of how the company's sponsorship would directly impact the team's success would strengthen the argument. The position is consistent and well-maintained throughout the letter.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for each option, and a concluding recommendation. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand' and 'While both options have merits', which help the flow. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or missing. For example, the final sentence of the fourth paragraph is a fragment ('whereas a concert series for temporary entertainment'), which disrupts the flow. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the overall cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'resilience', 'cultural experiences', and 'merits'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice or collocation errors, such as 'provide a feedback' (should be 'provide feedback'), 'sponsoring a money' (should be 'sponsoring a team'), and 'funding money in' (should be 'funding'). These errors do not impede communication, but they indicate a need for more precise control over word combinations. Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated collocations would help elevate your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you successfully use some complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('a feedback', 'a children's sports team', 'a concerts') and verb agreement ('the company want'). Additionally, there are some punctuation and structural issues, such as the sentence 'While both options have merits, but I believe...', which contains a redundant conjunction. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout the letter. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
