You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear sir,
I am writing this letter to suggest funding for either on-air concerts or sports.
I read in the newspaper that you want to spend money on sports, especially for children's teams, which I think is a great initiative. It has uncountable benefits such as it will encourage young generation to play and make good players which willn help to earn medals for the country.
On the other hand, if you want to spend money on concerts, then it will also be beneficial, as it will attract more people to this area, which will help to earn more revenue, which can be further used for various purposes.
Lastly, I personally believe that money should be utilized on sports because it will be beneficial for our community and young generation, who are the future of our country.
Hope you will keep my suggestion and invest this funding wisely.
Thank you, Harsh.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: describing the benefits of the sports team, summarizing the benefits of the concerts, and stating a clear preference. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the benefits of the concerts are described in very general terms ('attract more people', 'earn more revenue'). To achieve a higher band, you should provide more specific, illustrative examples or elaborate further on the long-term impact of these choices. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter, and the position is consistent throughout the text.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter follows a logical structure, with each paragraph addressing a specific requirement of the task. The use of cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand' and 'Lastly' helps guide the reader through your argument. However, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is slightly abrupt. Additionally, some sentences are repetitive in their structure (e.g., the repeated use of 'which will...'). Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is more precise would enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'initiative', 'utilized', and 'revenue'. However, the vocabulary is somewhat basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'uncountable benefits' are slightly unnatural in this context; 'numerous benefits' or 'significant advantages' would be more precise. There is also a minor error in 'on-air concerts' (the prompt specified 'open-air'). To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and avoid repeating the same words in close proximity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'willn help' (a typo) and 'young generation' (which requires an article: 'the young generation'). The sentence structure is occasionally repetitive, relying heavily on relative clauses starting with 'which'. To reach a higher band, aim for greater variety in sentence construction and ensure closer attention to articles and subject-verb agreement. Despite these errors, they do not impede communication.
