Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I hope you are doing well. I wanted to express my suggestions about offering the sponshership either on the sports team or the concerts.
Firstly, sponsoring sports team would greatly encourage children to participate for more physical activities. Moreover, it could help your company to get decent amount of attention from parents or public since company plans to provide 2 years of sponseership. Lastly it can predominantely helps kids who are pasionante towards sports by heling them financially.
On the other hand, open air concert can also supports local artist by providing them oppurtunity to showcase their ability, and it will definitely assist comany to publicize their product by catching the attention from adults.
I would recomment to sponsor sports team for one year and a open air concert partly. THANK

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all three bullet points of the prompt, providing benefits for both options and a clear recommendation. However, the letter is under the 150-word minimum requirement, which limits the development of ideas. While the points are relevant, they are somewhat brief and lack the depth expected for a higher band score. The conclusion is also abrupt, ending with 'THANK' instead of a formal closing. To improve, you should expand on your reasoning for each point to ensure the response is sufficiently developed and meets the length requirement, while also including a proper sign-off.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', 'Lastly', and 'On the other hand' to transition between ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by the brevity of the sentences and the lack of a proper closing. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure feels a bit mechanical. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure your paragraphs are balanced in length to create a more natural progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'participate', 'financially', and 'publicize'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'sponshership', 'sponseership', 'predominantely', 'pasionante', 'heling', 'oppurtunity', 'comany', and 'recomment'. These errors are frequent and occasionally distract the reader, although they do not fully impede communication. To reach a higher band, you should focus on accuracy in spelling and attempt to use more precise collocations, such as 'financial support' instead of 'heling them financially'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'sponsoring sports team' (missing an article), 'get decent amount of attention' (missing an article), and 'open air concert can also supports' (subject-verb agreement error). Additionally, there are punctuation issues and incomplete thoughts. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors limits the score. To improve, pay closer attention to articles (a/the), subject-verb agreement, and ensure your sentences are complete and grammatically sound.
