Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt: describing the benefits of the sports team, the benefits of the concerts, and providing a recommendation. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the suggestion to split the money equally is a bit vague, as the prompt asks you to choose between the two options. While you have covered the requirements, the ideas could be expanded with more specific examples or reasoning to better persuade the reader. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though it could be more polished.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Lastly' to structure your points. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some transitions feel abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the opening paragraph where the connection between the company's decision and your letter could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'empowerment', 'motivation', and 'socialize'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'large premises are providing good charity' (instead of 'a large company is offering a sponsorship') and 'it helps lot to the community' (instead of 'it helps the community a lot'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To reach a higher band, focus on using more natural collocations and varied vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'after heard that' (should be 'after hearing that'), 'To sponsoring the sports team' (should be 'Sponsoring the sports team'), and 'it helps awareness' (should be 'it raises awareness'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization after commas and the spacing before the final full stop. While the meaning is generally clear, these recurring errors in verb forms and sentence construction prevent the writing from reaching a higher level of accuracy.
