Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: describing the benefits of the sports team, the benefits of the concerts, and providing a recommendation. The ideas are relevant and clearly presented. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the suggestion to split the money is a good personal position, but it could be more effectively justified by explaining how the company could practically manage such a division. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter, and the purpose of the communication is clear throughout the response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, with each section focusing on a specific requirement of the task. You have used some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'On the other side', and 'Moreover' to link your ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel a bit abrupt. The paragraphing is clear, which helps the reader follow your argument. To improve, try to vary your linking words and ensure that the relationship between sentences is more fluid, rather than relying solely on simple sequence markers.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'sports infrastructure' and 'community bond'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'wins medals for the country' (should be 'win'), 'high calss players' (spelling error), and 'young one admire of him' (grammatical/lexical confusion). While these errors do not prevent understanding, they indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations to reach a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('a city need'), incorrect pronoun usage ('there' instead of 'their'), and punctuation errors (e.g., spaces before commas). While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall fluency of the writing. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization, possessive pronouns, and consistent verb tense usage, as these are currently the main obstacles to achieving a higher score.
