IELTS Writing Task 1 question

A large company in your area has decided to spend a certain amount of money, either to sponsor a local children's sports team for two years, or to pay for two open-air concerts. It has asked for feedback from the general public.

Write a letter to the company. In your letter

• describe the benefits of sponsoring the sports team
• summarise the benefits of paying for the concerts
• say how you think the company should spend the money

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to provide suggestions regarding the topic of sponsoring a local children's sport or paying for the concerts.

To begin with, the children of today's society are going to be the backbone of future generation. Investing on them should come with a high interest in return, for instance, a better sports facility can be highly beneficial in their overall growth as it promotes physical fitness, mental agility and better relationship inside their friend circle.

Now talking about the concerts, it also has its fair share of advantages. Two open-air concerts are definitely a lucrative option, especially for the music lovers and the youth of the society. This event will bring everyone together and share an unforgettable memery.

However, I personally believe the investment of such large sum of money should be done on something that will extract highest returns in the long-run. Hence, I think spending the funds on children's sport team should be the best option.
