Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter about giving you feedback in order to take active interest in sponsorship. Due to having large number of children in city, sponsorship to a local sports team encourage kids to enroll in various sports activities which will enable them to build a strong relationship towards sports. Thus, children's will able to spend there time in playing not only different games but also can help them to be a strong in terms of physical health.
In addition, two open-air concerts provide chances to meet either a live singer or a performer to society as well as wide range of people can spend their time in this relieve activity to reduce their stress level in open air concert. Hence, paying for concerts will provide an opportunity to the people who love to enjoy concert and meet various individuals to build social relationship. Moreover, I believe, if company can accept the funds for sports team, that would be great for younger generation to learn something new outdoors instead of spending whole day in smartphones and video games.
I hope you will like my prospective.
Kind regards,
Vian

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly describe the benefits of the sports team sponsorship and the concerts, and you provide a clear recommendation. The ideas are relevant and logically developed. However, the development is somewhat repetitive, particularly regarding the benefits of sports. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are more distinct and fully explored. For example, instead of just mentioning 'physical health,' you could elaborate on how a sports team fosters community spirit or discipline. Overall, the task is fulfilled effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, with each focusing on a specific part of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices like 'In addition,' 'Thus,' and 'Moreover' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'giving you feedback in order to take active interest in sponsorship.' The transition between ideas is sometimes mechanical rather than natural. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the relationship between sentences is always clear and smooth.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'sponsorship,' 'enroll,' and 'prospective.' However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'take active interest in sponsorship' (instead of 'express interest in sponsoring') and 'relieve activity' (instead of 'relaxing activity'). Additionally, 'prospective' is used incorrectly at the end; you likely meant 'perspective.' While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they limit the score. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'children's will able to' (should be 'children will be able to'), 'spend there time' (should be 'their'), and 'if company can accept' (should be 'if the company'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent. While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic errors like homophones (there/their) and missing articles.
