Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: describing the benefits of the sports team, summarizing the benefits of the concerts, and providing a clear recommendation. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding poverty and sports participation is a bit generalized and could have been more specifically linked to the local community context. The position is clear throughout, and the response fulfills the requirements of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific part of the task. The progression of ideas is easy to follow. Cohesive devices such as 'Therefore', 'Thus', and 'As per my perspective' are used to link sentences and ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the use of 'it' in 'it will brings several benefit', where the antecedent is not perfectly clear. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and contributes to the clarity of the message.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'tremendous' and 'crucial'. However, there are several errors in word choice and form, such as 'provide a feedback' (should be 'provide feedback'), 'youngster sports team' (should be 'youth sports team'), and 'work isusses' (spelling error). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the writing. A wider range of collocations would improve the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that detract from the quality of the writing. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues like 'it will brings' (should be 'it will bring') and 'your donation will assists' (should be 'will assist'). There are also punctuation errors, such as 'childrens`' (should be 'children's'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall accuracy of the text.
