Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir,
I am writing to you with regard to provide suggestions about your decision either to contribute in build a local juveniles sports team for two year or funding for two open-air concerts.
Putting efforts to introduce such children athletic group can promote culture of fitness and encourage children to indulge in physical activities. This trend not only fosters their soft skills like teamwork, leadership but also fosters their level of wellness. Additionally, working as a team increases confidence and communication ability.
On the other side, spending capital on establishing concerts like this can be beneficial for doing entertainment which is again imperative for society to relax their mind. Community can boost their mental health if they have facilities to enjoy live music events with open-air for everyone in this hectic world.
I would like you to give some concept like partially expansion should be relevant for both activities. I want to say you can create a children sports team with you savings and arrange a fund raising program for other ideas where local public will donate money for this.
Yours faithfully,
Bhagwant Kaur.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points of the prompt, providing benefits for both options and a clear recommendation. The ideas are relevant and logically presented. However, the development of the final recommendation is slightly confusing; you suggest a 'partial expansion' and a fundraising program, which deviates slightly from the instruction to choose how the company should spend the money. To improve, ensure your recommendation is direct and clearly linked to the company's budget. Overall, the task is fulfilled, but the depth of the argument could be enhanced by focusing more on the specific impact of the company's investment.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the task. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Additionally', 'On the other side', and 'I would like you to'. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the opening paragraph is slightly disjointed due to grammatical issues. The use of paragraphing is appropriate for a formal letter, and the overall progression of ideas is easy to follow, which meets the requirements for a solid band 6.5 or 7.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'imperative', 'hectic', and 'fosters'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'contribute in build' (should be 'contributing to building') and 'doing entertainment' (should be 'providing entertainment'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit your score. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that your word forms are accurate in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms and prepositions, such as 'with regard to provide' (should be 'with regard to providing') and 'with you savings' (should be 'with your savings'). There are also issues with article usage and pluralization, such as 'promote culture' (should be 'promote a culture'). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. Increasing your control over basic grammatical structures will help improve your score.
