IELTS Writing Task 1 question

A large company in your area has decided to spend a certain amount of money, either to sponsor a local children's sports team for two years, or to pay for two open-air concerts. It has asked for feedback from the general public.

Write a letter to the company. In your letter

• describe the benefits of sponsoring the sports team
• summarise the benefits of paying for the concerts
• say how you think the company should spend the money

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am delighted to know that your company is willing to spend a certain amount of money in my residential area. I am writing to provide my feedback and explanations, I believe it is better to sponsor a local children's sports team'

Firstly, the children in this area do not participate in sports activities, due to lack of facilities, in that case funding for sports team will not only inspire students to engage in sports but also save money of their parents from buying expensive sports club memberships.

On the other hand, the idea of two open-air concerts is also pretty exciting. It can be way to enjoy shared entertainment and build sense of belonging within people of community. Moreover ,people across the all age groups can be benefited.

After thinking regarding advantages of this two options, in my perspective it is better to use money for children sports team. As it can have a huge impact on children's sports performance and regular physical activity will contribute to their mental and physical well-being.

I am truly grateful for yours company's generous proposals.
