Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to express theviews regading the money which are going to be used for either on children's sports for two year or for the concerts. I believe that using certain amount for sports will be beneficial for health and career perspective as compared to concert.
Motivating and supporting local teams in sports sector always encourages children for more practise. Additionally, arranging a proper game kits save individuals from injuiry and encourage them to practise easily.
However, arranging an open-air concert such as live comedy and music shows will have their benefits; as this will helps locals to laugh and forgets their stress for some times. The tickets must be available for other residency area to experience this change and thus this profit can also be used for supporting games.
From my perspective, sponsoring in children's games will helps them to sharpen-up their skills and they will get a chance to play for nationals after better practising. I hope you will look into this matter promptly.
I will look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
Manpreet

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task. You described the benefits of the sports team, summarized the benefits of the concerts, and provided a clear recommendation. The ideas are relevant and the position is consistent throughout the letter. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited; for instance, the explanation of how concert profits could support sports is a bit vague and lacks logical depth. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are fully extended with more specific examples or logical reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, each focusing on a specific part of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Additionally', 'However', and 'From my perspective', which help the flow of the text. However, there are instances where the connection between sentences is slightly mechanical or awkward, such as the transition in the third paragraph regarding concert profits. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure could benefit from more sophisticated linking words to improve the flow between ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'beneficial', 'motivating', and 'sharpen-up'. However, there are several spelling errors ('theviews', 'regading', 'injuiry') and some awkward word choices, such as 'residency area' instead of 'residential area' or 'local community'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a wider range of precise vocabulary to move into the higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you successfully convey your meaning, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'sponsoring... will helps', 'this will helps') and article usage ('for two year' instead of 'two years'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and phrasing issues throughout. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex structures are used accurately. The majority of your sentences are understandable, but the frequency of these small errors limits your score.
