Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You have described the benefits of the sports team sponsorship, summarized the benefits of the concerts, and clearly stated your preference. The ideas are relevant and logically developed. However, the development of the final point could be more sophisticated; for instance, you mention that the sports team gives a 'higher return' but do not fully explain why this is more valuable than the community-wide social benefits of concerts. Overall, the response is well-structured and fulfills the requirements of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'Finally' to guide the reader through your argument. While the flow is logical, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as in the sentence 'Unlike concerts are organized for few hours', which lacks a clear connection to the previous thought. Nevertheless, the progression of ideas is easy to follow throughout the letter.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'physical activities', 'discipline', and 'community'. There are some instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choice, such as 'paying for two open air concerts would also benefit for residents' (should be 'benefit residents') and 'concerts are help local shops' (should be 'help local shops'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. To reach a higher band, focus on more precise collocations and avoid repetitive structures.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms and prepositions, such as 'I am writing to giving feedback' (should be 'to give'), 'use the fixed amount' (should be 'using'), and 'sponsor a local sports teams' (should be 'sponsoring a local sports team'). Additionally, the closing 'Your faithfully' is incorrect (should be 'Yours faithfully'). While these errors are frequent, the meaning remains clear throughout the letter. Increasing your control over basic verb patterns and article usage will significantly improve your score.
