Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear sir or madam
I am writing this letter to say thank you to you for the decision of organising a local youth sports team or spending on a concert. This is a very very good decision for both as the community and the sports teams.
Moreover , spending money on sponsoring a sports team not only beneficial for the teams as well as community also as it will spread the boost your organisation brand and also influence more youngsters towards sports . This plan also gives a chance to children to show their talent and gaining best training experience .
On the other hand , organising a concert will improve cultural integration and increase visitors to visit from other countries . This will be good entertainment source for the people . In the todays era nobody has time to meet each other personally but though this they would get a chance to meet and share theor interests with each others.
Thank you again .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly describe the benefits of the sports team sponsorship and the concerts, and you provide a recommendation. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the benefits of the sports team are mentioned, but the explanation remains quite general. To reach a higher band, try to expand on your points with more specific examples or logical consequences. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although the opening is slightly informal in its phrasing. Overall, the task is fulfilled, but the depth of the arguments could be improved to better persuade the reader.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'On the other hand' to transition between ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'but though this they would get a chance'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between the sports team and the company's brand could be more smoothly integrated. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that sentences flow naturally into one another will help improve the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'integration', 'influence', and 'organisation'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'spread the boost your organisation brand' and 'theor interests'. The phrase 'very very good' is repetitive and lacks the sophistication expected at higher levels. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding informal intensifiers. Expanding your vocabulary to include more topic-specific terminology related to corporate social responsibility or community engagement would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'spending on a concert' (instead of 'sponsoring a concert'), 'not only beneficial for the teams as well as community also', and 'in the todays era'. These errors, while not impeding communication, are noticeable and occur throughout the text. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement, the correct use of correlative conjunctions (e.g., 'not only... but also'), and basic punctuation. Increasing the accuracy of your complex sentences will help you achieve a higher band score.
