Write a letter to the company. In your letter

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Mr. Smith,

I would like to appreciate your company's initiative for talking feedback from general public about the decision of spending money either for local children's sports team for couple of years or for two open-air concerts.

Sponsoring a local children's sport team allows you to advertise your company and also allows children's to play with better gears. With the right gear, they can improve their game and present themselves in state level tournaments. This increases your brand visibility.

Spending money on open-air concerts help to increase website traffic drastically specially on the event day. If concert goes viral, company gets huge brand visibility.

If you spend money on local sports, company gets consistent brand visibility throughout 2 years. This money can also help you to earn trusts from locals. This could be helpful to you in many political ways.

I am looking forward to your decision.

Yours faithfully,

Yash

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points of the prompt. You described the benefits of the sports team and the concerts, and you provided a clear recommendation. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the suggestion that sponsoring a sports team could be helpful in 'political ways' is vague and lacks sufficient explanation. To achieve a higher band, ensure that your arguments are more fully extended and supported with clearer reasoning. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although the opening salutation 'Dear Mr. Smith' contradicts the instruction to begin with 'Dear Sir or Madam'.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organized into distinct paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the task. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'If' and 'This', to link ideas. However, the progression between sentences can feel a bit mechanical at times. The transition between the second and third paragraphs is abrupt, and the overall flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') to connect your points more fluidly. Paragraphing is used appropriately, which helps the reader follow your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'brand visibility', 'drastically', and 'tournaments'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, you wrote 'talking feedback' instead of 'seeking feedback' and 'children's to play' instead of 'children to play'. Additionally, 'better gears' is incorrect as 'gear' is an uncountable noun. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over vocabulary and common collocations to reach a higher band level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as conditional sentences ('If concert goes viral...'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. These include missing articles ('the' local sports), subject-verb agreement issues ('If concert goes' should be 'If the concert goes'), and pluralization errors ('children's to play'). While these errors rarely impede the overall meaning of your letter, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with articles and plurals, would be highly beneficial.
