Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses all three bullet points of the prompt, but the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. While you mention the benefits of the sports team and the concerts, the arguments are somewhat vague and lack specific detail. For instance, the explanation of how the company benefits from sponsoring the sports team is unclear and repetitive. The recommendation for how the money should be spent is also slightly confusing, as you seem to conflate the sports team sponsorship with the concerts in the final paragraph. To improve, ensure each point is clearly distinguished and supported with more logical, well-developed reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the flow of ideas is often disjointed due to the limited use of cohesive devices and some awkward phrasing. Transitions between sentences are sometimes missing or repetitive (e.g., 'When... when... when...'). The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult to follow the progression of your argument. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect your ideas more smoothly and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to convey ideas with precision. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'I discus my all team member' instead of 'I discussed this with my team members' and 'adcted to bad manners' instead of 'addicted to negative habits'. The range of vocabulary is narrow, relying on simple, high-frequency words. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to community development, corporate social responsibility, and sports, and pay closer attention to word forms and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with verb tense, subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. For example, 'I am writing this letter to feedback' should be 'to provide feedback', and 'all children health is wealth feel good' is grammatically incorrect. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper structure, which occasionally impedes the flow of communication. While you attempt some complex ideas, the execution is often faulty. Focusing on basic sentence construction, correct verb tenses, and subject-verb agreement will significantly improve the clarity and accuracy of your writing.
