Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Madam,
I really appreciate that your company has decided to spend money on public services. I am writing this letter regarding to discuss benefits of support to favour sports team or for the concerts.
It will be great gesture to support children's sports team as they will be motivated, rather than asking for fundraising from government or someone to sponser them. Moreover, coaching staff will be able to purchase sports equipments from those funds which are very pricy.
On the other hand, it will be a golden opportunity to attend those couple of concerts for youth as those artists who will be performing are really the greatest of the all time. Additionally, those artists will also get more fame and money and city will be having chance for temporary employment for the locals.
Depending on my opinion, I would favour more to sponser kid's sports team for next 2 years rather than having those 2 open-air concerts which are not going to last more than few weeks.
Hope my feedback gets count.
Yours Faithfully,
Ajaykumar Karkar.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly describe the benefits of the sports team sponsorship and the concerts, and you provide a definite recommendation. The ideas are relevant and logically developed. However, the development is somewhat basic; for instance, the explanation of the concert benefits could be more detailed to fully explore the impact on the community. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are fully extended with more specific reasoning or examples. Overall, the response is well-focused and meets the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'On the other hand', and 'Additionally' to transition between ideas. While the flow is generally smooth, some of the linking is a bit mechanical. The referencing is clear, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow throughout the letter. To improve, try to vary your cohesive devices and ensure that the relationship between sentences is more sophisticated, which will help the text feel more natural and cohesive.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fundraising', 'coaching staff', and 'temporary employment'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'regarding to discuss' (should be 'regarding the benefits') and 'get count' (should be 'taken into account'). Additionally, 'sponser' is misspelled throughout. While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the score. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure you are using the correct forms of words in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'support to favour sports team' (should be 'supporting a sports team'), 'equipments' (equipment is uncountable), and 'Depending on my opinion' (should be 'In my opinion'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To achieve a higher band, you should aim for more error-free sentences and pay closer attention to articles, pluralization, and preposition usage. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy will also help.
