Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear sir,
I hope you are doing great in your life. I heard that you and your company are going to help financially for the betterment of our area. I wanted to share my opinion about this.
I personally believe that investing money on local children's sports team is more beneficial than spending for two open-air concerts.
As we all know children are the future of our society and country. If they will get support financially for their sports, they can give their 100 percent to their games. Some students of our society are not able to full fill their dreams because of money, due to some of them have belonged to middle class family who are not that financially strong to help their children.
People will come and attend the concerts but after that they will forget about it. But if you support the children, they will shine their county's name and can build a successful life for them and their parents.
Your regards,
Rajvinder Kaur

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly describe the benefits of the sports team and the concerts, and you provide a clear recommendation. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that children are the future, the explanation of the sports team's benefits could be more detailed, perhaps by mentioning specific community impacts. The discussion of the concerts is quite brief, focusing only on the temporary nature of the event. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is expanded with more specific reasoning or examples to fully develop your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'As we all know' and 'But if you support'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. Additionally, the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'due to some of them have belonged to middle class family', where the connection to the previous clause is awkward. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You use a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly. Phrases like 'financially for the betterment' and 'shine their county's name' are understandable but slightly unnatural in a formal letter context. There are some minor errors in word choice, such as 'full fill' (fulfill) and 'county's' (country's). While the vocabulary is adequate for the task, it lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. To improve, try to incorporate more formal collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing like 'financially' and 'money'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'If they will get support... they can give' (conditional structure error), 'due to some of them have belonged' (incorrect clause structure), and 'Your regards' (incorrect closing). These errors do not impede communication, but they do show a lack of control over more complex grammatical forms. To improve, focus on mastering conditional sentences and ensuring subject-verb agreement throughout your writing.
