IELTS Writing Task 1 question
A large company in your area has decided to spend a certain amount of money, either to sponsor a local children's sports team for two years, or to pay for two open-air concerts. It has asked for feedback from the general public.
Write a letter to the company. In your letter
- describe the benefits of sponsoring the sports team
- summarise the benefits of paying for the concerts
- say how you think the company should spend the money
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear sir,
i am writing to share my views about how your company should spent money as you decided to spend it either on local sports team for children or to pay for two concerts.
Firstly, paying for sports team would be benefitial for the health of kids physically by sharpening their skills such as, teamwork, discipline, confidence and leadership. This team also help them as financial supporter like, to pay for the equipments, uniform and training. Plus, your comapny will get a positive reputation in community.
However, paying for concerts will also be a good chnace for all ages of people in the area to get together and have a moment of entertainment. It will also help local artists, musicians, shops and restaurants to get profit of this event.
No doubt, there are advantages for each of the local sports team and concert. But, in my opinion, i think your company should spend the money on sports team for kids as it will be payment for two years and more benefitial as compare to just two concerts. It will help company to make good relationships with community.
