Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points: the benefits of the sports team, the benefits of the concerts, and a recommendation. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation of the concert benefits is vague, stating it 'allows them to raise their stress level' (likely meaning 'reduce stress'). The recommendation is also slightly confusing, as it suggests the company should spend money on a 'responsible member of the community' rather than choosing between the two options provided. While the task is addressed, the ideas lack the depth and clarity required for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'The main benefit behind this donation due to' are grammatically disjointed, and the transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'them' in the second paragraph, which lacks a clear antecedent. While there is an overall progression, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the presence of awkward phrasing limit the flow of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'huge donations which is allocated' (should be 'a large donation which has been allocated') and 'generated curiousty' (likely meaning 'generate interest'). Spelling errors like 'fathfully' and 'curiousty' are present. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on basic descriptors that do not fully convey the intended meaning. To improve, you should focus on learning collocations and ensuring that words are used in the correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('donations which is'), incorrect verb forms ('money will be spend'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around punctuation marks. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of grammatical errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
