Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the development of the task. While you mention the benefits of the sports team, the section regarding the benefits of the concerts is missing entirely, meaning the task is only partially addressed. Furthermore, the recommendation is stated in the introduction but lacks the necessary supporting arguments or a formal conclusion. To improve, you must ensure all bullet points are addressed with equal depth and that the letter follows a standard structure including a clear opening, body paragraphs for each requirement, and a formal closing.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter lacks a clear structure and logical progression. There is no paragraphing to separate the different requirements of the task, which makes the text feel disjointed. Cohesive devices are largely absent; for example, the transition between the benefits of sports and the mention of international play is abrupt. To improve, use linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'on the other hand' to connect your ideas. Additionally, ensure you use separate paragraphs for each main point to help the reader follow your argument more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'huge role' and 'biggest problem' are basic and lack the precision expected at higher levels. There are also errors in word formation and collocation, such as 'children well being' (should be 'children's well-being') and 'promte active lifestyle' (should be 'promote an active lifestyle'). To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to community development and social benefits, and pay closer attention to the correct usage of articles and possessive apostrophes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains several grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are subject-verb agreement issues, such as 'Some children wants' (should be 'want') and 'supporting their team can contribute to country’s best player' (which is syntactically unclear). The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and the use of articles. Additionally, try to incorporate more complex sentence structures, such as using relative clauses or conditional sentences, to demonstrate a wider grammatical range.
