IELTS Writing Task 1 question
A large company in your area has decided to spend a certain amount of money, either to sponsor a local children's sports team for two years, or to pay for two open-air concerts. It has asked for feedback from the general public.
Write a letter to the company. In your letter
- describe the benefits of sponsoring the sports team
- summarise the benefits of paying for the concerts
- say how you think the company should spend the money
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir or Madam,

Dear Sir or Madam
I am writing in response to your decision of spending money in my area and i would like to share my feedback . I would first like to thank you for your interest.
However, deciding to spend money on either the sports team or a concert is highly difficult. That said, allocating the money for the local children's sports team will help them in numerous ways, for instance it can help them with sports equipment , better infrastructure and diet plans. Moreover it will also help to boost the morale of these children significantly.
On the other hand, my area has not seen any major events in recent times, as a result the life here has become somewhat boring. Two open-air concerts will help elevate the lifestyle in the area, which will surely cure the boredom that has long hunted us.
In the end, I would like to purpose if you can allot the money for both of the causes, but I also understand the expense to properly accommodate both of them. If that is not possible I would like you to lean towards the sponsorship of the sports team as it will open the doors for them to play for the nation one day.
