Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses all three bullet points, but the development is insufficient. The letter is incomplete, ending abruptly in the final paragraph without a conclusion or a clear final recommendation. Furthermore, the response is under the 150-word minimum, which significantly impacts the ability to fully develop the ideas. While the benefits of the sports team and concerts are mentioned, the lack of a complete argument and the unfinished final sentence prevent a higher score. To improve, ensure all parts of the prompt are fully explored and the letter is brought to a logical conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter uses basic paragraphing and some cohesive devices like 'First of all' and 'Furthermore'. However, the flow is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, which makes the progression of ideas feel disjointed. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the abrupt ending of the text means there is no overall sense of closure. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, complete topic sentence that connects logically to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are several spelling errors (e.g., 'descriibe', 'soprt', 'dificulties', 'ressources', 'opinoin') and word choice issues, such as 'financial efficiency' used incorrectly to mean 'funding' and 'devises' instead of 'divided'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of precision and the high frequency of spelling mistakes limit the range of vocabulary demonstrated. Expanding your vocabulary to include more topic-specific collocations related to sponsorship and community events would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('children's need', 'All of this is depend'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence structures ('I am writing this letter, to descriibe how much it is important of sponsoring'). The range of structures is limited, and the punctuation is inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and pluralization.
