Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 2.5

The response fails to meet the required word count minimum of 150 words, coming in at only 88 words. Consequently, the task is addressed only partially. While the writer manages to express a preference for sponsoring the sports team, the second bullet point regarding the benefits of the concerts is completely omitted. Ideas are extremely limited and under-developed, lacking the necessary detail and extension required to fully cover all bullet points of the prompt. To improve, the writer must ensure the minimum length is met and every part of the task instructions is fully addressed with well-supported ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a lack of proper paragraphing, and the letter format is compromised by the extremely brief structure and missing sections. Cohesive devices are very basic or missing, and the ideas are not arranged with a clear overall progression. For instance, connecting sentences relies on repetitive use of 'and we can' rather than varied cohesive links. To move up, the writer needs to organise the response into clear paragraphs, use a wider variety of transition words, and ensure a logical flow of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, featuring frequent errors such as 'comminicate', 'peoples', and 'dress' instead of 'uniforms' or 'kits'. There are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'generate the high revenue', which may cause some difficulty for the reader. However, the meaning of basic terms like 'advertisement' and 'company' is still conveyed. To achieve a higher band, the writer should incorporate a wider and more precise range of vocabulary, use less common lexical items accurately, and eliminate spelling and word-form errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response shows a very limited range of structures, relying heavily on simple clauses strung together with conjunctions. There are frequent errors in grammar and sentence structure, such as 'on feedback sponsoring' instead of 'to give feedback on sponsoring', and 'if we can sponsoring' which misuses modal verb patterns. Punctuation and capitalization are also weak, as seen in the incorrect greeting 'Hi Sir\Madam' and lowercase beginnings in sentences. To improve, the writer needs to demonstrate control over complex sentence forms, correct verb tenses, and improve overall grammatical accuracy.
