Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Sir or Madam,

I hope this email meets you well.regarding the feedback, i will like to give my own opinion on the benefits of sponsoring the sports team, benefits of paying for concerts and my personal convictions based on how the cooperation should spend their financial resources.

Firstly, the benefits of sponsoring the Teams Sport team enables the company to get more publicity because of tts name;also the Logo could be on the Teams Shirts and advertisement. Furthermore, it provides a well improved nature of the organization reputation by showing that it supports local young players, promotes quality and diversity and helthy avtivities.

Secondly, Another worthwhile way for the company to support the local community would be to pay for concerts. Funding these events would provide the public with enjoyable entertainment while also giving the company valuable publicity. For example, the company’s name could be displayed on posters, tickets and banners at the concert, allowing many people to become familiar with the brand. Furthermore, sponsoring concerts could improve the company’s reputation by showing that it is willing to invest in the local community. This could encourage people to view the company more positively and potentially become loyal customers in the future.

Lastly, In my opinion, the company should spend the majority of the money on sponsoring the sports team, as this would provide greater long-term benefits. By supporting the team, the company’s name and logo could be displayed on players’ shirts, banners and other promotional materials throughout the season. This would give the company regular exposure to spectators and the wider community, helping to increase brand awareness. However, I would recommend using the remaining money to support one or two local concerts. This would allow the company to reach a different audience while demonstrating its commitment to supporting the local community. Overall, investing more heavily in the sports team while also contributing to local concerts would provide a good balance between long-term advertising and community support.

Yours Faithfully,

Precious

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5

The letter addresses all three requested points and maintains a clear recommendation: prioritise the sports team while using some funds for concerts. The sports sponsorship benefits include publicity and a stronger reputation through support for young players; the concert section explains both public entertainment and potential brand exposure. Your final paragraph develops the recommendation with a useful contrast between regular, long-term exposure and reaching a different audience. This is a strong, relevant response. To make the ideas more fully developed, explain more specifically how supporting children’s sport benefits the local community or why the two-year sponsorship offers greater value than funding two concerts. The opening also promises personal views but could move more directly into the requested feedback.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The response has a clear overall progression: sports sponsorship, concerts, and then your recommendation. Paragraphing supports this structure, and linking expressions such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Furthermore,” and “Overall” make the sequence easy to follow. The final paragraph also connects the two options effectively by recommending a larger investment in sport alongside some concert funding. However, the repeated sequencing markers make parts of the letter feel somewhat formulaic, and “Lastly” is followed by a paragraph that continues the recommendation rather than introducing a distinct final point. The opening sentence is also crowded and runs directly into “regarding.” Use fewer, more natural transitions and separate the greeting from the purpose statement to make the flow smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range for the topic, including “valuable publicity,” “brand awareness,” “long-term benefits,” and “commitment to supporting the local community.” These phrases help explain the company’s potential gains and show some flexibility beyond basic vocabulary. However, several inaccurate or awkward choices reduce precision: “my personal convictions” sounds overly forceful for a feedback letter, “well improved nature” is unclear, and “quality and diversity” does not clearly describe the benefits of supporting young players. There are also spelling and word-form slips, including “helthy” and “avtivities,” as well as “Teams Sport team.” Choose more natural collocations such as “positive reputation” and “healthy activities,” and proofread spelling and capitalization carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

The letter includes a mix of simple and complex structures, and several sentences are controlled well, such as “Funding these events would provide the public with enjoyable entertainment while also giving the company valuable publicity.” You also use subordinate clauses to explain outcomes, for example, “as this would provide greater long-term benefits.” Some grammar and punctuation errors remain. The opening has a run-on boundary in “well.regarding,” and “i will like” uses an incorrect verb form; write “I would like.” Capitalization is inconsistent, including lowercase “i” and “Lastly” after a comma. The phrase “the benefits of sponsoring the Teams Sport team enables” also has a mismatched subject and verb. Review sentence boundaries, agreement, and capitalization to improve accuracy.
