Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to share my feedback to sponsor a local children's sports team for two years.
If the company sponsor a local children's sports team for two years, it will allow children to take part in various sports. This is beneficial for their physical and mental development. Furthermore, it will allow them to polish their sportsmanship skills, thus they can represent their state at national and internationl level competitions and bring prosperity to their hometown.
On the other hand, if the company pay for two open-air concerts, it will give young artists an opportunity to showcase their talent on the stage. Moreover, it is useful for the company to bring more customers.
From my opinion, the benefits of spending money to sponsor a local children's sports team for two years are more as it is useful for youngsters's development. Therefore, company should spend their money after considering all necessary aspects.
Regards,
Iqbal

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address all three points: you explain that sponsorship could support children’s physical and mental development, mention young artists benefiting from concerts, and recommend sponsoring the team. However, the benefits are brief and only lightly supported; for example, the claim that children could represent their state internationally and “bring prosperity” is not explained. Your final recommendation is also weakened by the vague statement that the company should spend “after considering all necessary aspects.” The response contains 128 words, so it is 22 words below the 150-word minimum; 29 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each option with a specific benefit and state your choice more decisively.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening, a paragraph about sponsorship, a contrastive paragraph about concerts, and a concluding recommendation. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “On the other hand,” and “Therefore” help show the relationship between ideas. However, the progression is somewhat mechanical, and the final sentence does not clearly reinforce your choice because it shifts to a general suggestion about considering all aspects. The opening also says you are sharing feedback “to sponsor” the team, which makes the purpose less clear. Use paragraphing as you have done, but make the opening and conclusion directly connect to the company’s decision and use references that clearly identify the preferred option.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “physical and mental development,” “showcase their talent,” and “sportsmanship skills.” These phrases communicate relevant ideas, and the contrast between sponsorship and concerts is clear. There are, however, some inaccurate or unnatural choices that limit precision: “share my feedback to sponsor” does not express the intended purpose naturally, “bring prosperity to their hometown” is an unclear outcome in this context, and “benefits … are more” is an awkward comparison. There is also a spelling error in “internationl.” Choose more precise collocations and check spelling; for example, describe the company as “sponsoring” the team and compare which option offers “greater benefits.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional clauses beginning “If the company…” and a result clause with “thus.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur. In “If the company sponsor,” the verb should agree with the singular subject (“sponsors”); “the company pay” also needs “pays.” The phrase “youngsters’s development” has an incorrect possessive form, and “company should spend their money” has an article and pronoun-agreement problem. The sentence beginning “From my opinion” is also not formed naturally. Practise subject–verb agreement, possessives, and articles, and proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb. These corrections would make your varied sentence attempts more controlled.
