Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir/Madam,
Iam writing this letter to provide my feedback on whether the company should sponsor the local youth sports team or conduct two open-air concerts.
If the companys sponsor the childrens sports team for next two years, then it would help those childrens to persue their passion with all required equipmnents. This would help bringing their game play to ther next level. Additionaly it could inspire other youngs to follow their pasion in sports and knowing that there are companies that would back their skills.
While paying for open-air concerts can create a memoriable day for many peoples. As this would help several people to have some down time from theri bussy life, connect with differnet indiviuals. This would benefit to all the ages group of the society.
I would suggest the company to sponspor the childerns team for one yaer and isntead of two concerts they can conduct one so that all the age groupds can be benefited from their funding.
Kind Regards,
Yash Patel.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three requested points: you explain that sponsorship could provide equipment and encourage young people, summarise the concerts as a chance to relax and meet others, and give a recommendation. Your position is clear, but the final proposal changes the options by suggesting one year of sponsorship and one concert, rather than choosing between the two alternatives as presented. The benefits are relevant, although some are only briefly stated; for example, the concerts’ benefit to “all the ages group” is not explained in detail. To strengthen the response, develop each benefit with a specific consequence and make a direct recommendation between the company’s two original choices.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening purpose, separate paragraphs for the two options, and a concluding recommendation. This makes the main points easy to locate. You also use basic links such as “If,” “While,” and “Additionaly” to connect ideas. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The sentence beginning “While paying for open-air concerts…” is followed by a fragment beginning “As this would help,” and the relationship between the final compromise and the original alternatives is not fully signposted. Improve progression by using complete sentences and clearer transitions, and ensure each paragraph develops one option before the conclusion compares them.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “sponsor,” “passion,” “equipments,” “open-air concerts,” and “down time,” so the reader can understand the intended ideas. There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “game play” and “back their skills.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are noticeable, including “persue,” “memoriable,” “sponspor,” and “childerns.” Some combinations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “all the ages group” and “bringing their game play to their next level.” These errors limit clarity and control. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, for example, “provide equipment,” “support their development,” and “people of all ages.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the conditional opening “If the company…,” and your main message is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, plurals, agreement, and sentence boundaries. For example, “for next two years” needs an article, while “those childrens” has incorrect plural marking. “While paying for open-air concerts can create…” is not followed by a complete independent clause, and “As this would help…” is a fragment. The final sentence also combines several ideas without clear punctuation. Practise complete complex sentences and check noun forms and articles; this will make your meaning more consistently clear.
