Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to provide my feeback on you future investment plan in my area. I really appericiate your decision for choosing this place.
As you mentioned that your organization either supports the sports team, or pay for two open-air concerts. I believe that by sponsoring local players, you can provide them with better instruments and financial support. This will faciliate them to enhance their gaming skills and practice with modern equipments. However, organizing two open-air concerts for the public can be enjoyed by all local residents. This can be the best entertainment experience for them without spending money.
According to me, you should prioritize spending on the sports team because this will have more long-term benefits such as trained players and a fewer expenses on equipments. Again, I am very thankful to give me a chance to write my views.
I hope you will consider my feeback and invest accordingly. Thank you in advance.
Yours faithfully,
Manish Thakur.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points and make your recommendation clear: you favour sponsoring the sports team because of its “long-term benefits.” You also identify relevant benefits for both options, including improved training and equipment for players, and free entertainment for local residents. However, the sports-team benefits are more developed than the concert benefits, which are summarised in only one general sentence. The claim that sponsorship would mean “fewer expenses on equipments” is unclear: explain whose expenses would fall and how. To strengthen the response, add a specific benefit of the concerts, such as bringing residents together, and support your recommendation with a clearer comparison of the options.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall structure: an opening, a paragraph comparing the two options, a recommendation, and a polite closing. The reader can follow the progression from the company’s choices to your preferred option. You also use linking expressions such as “However,” “According to me,” and “Again” to connect ideas. Some links are not fully natural or precise, though: “Again” does not clearly introduce a new point, and “As you mentioned that” makes the transition into the comparison awkward. The recommendation paragraph also combines the reason for your choice with thanks to the company. Use more purposeful transitions and keep each paragraph focused on one function to make the organisation smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for communicating the main ideas, with relevant terms such as “sponsoring,” “financial support,” “long-term benefits,” and “entertainment experience.” You also attempt more specific language about training and equipment. However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy, including “feeback,” “appericiate,” and “faciliate.” Some combinations are unnatural or imprecise: “gaming skills” is not the usual phrase for sports, and “modern equipments” uses an uncountable noun as a plural. “Investment plan” is also less natural here than a phrase referring to the company’s proposed spending. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for sport, sponsorship, and public events.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast introduced by “However” and the reason clause in “because this will have more long-term benefits.” Most of the message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “your organization either supports the sports team, or pay” has inconsistent verb forms; use “either supports … or pays.” In “I really appreciate your decision for choosing,” the pattern after “decision” is incorrect; write “decision to choose.” The phrase “a fewer expenses” also has an incorrect determiner, and “I am very thankful to give me a chance” needs a different structure, such as “thank you for giving me the chance.” Practise parallel forms and verb patterns.
