Student answer (Band 5.0)

Dear sir ,

I am writing the letter for spend money on our area. i think it is a very important for your company development and it is a very good idea.

If you sponser the childerens team,it is very good for health.Childeren will play and be fit. Many poor childeren cannot buy sports kits,so your help will be very useful for them.

If you pay all these charges. It is very good. People will enjoy musics with their families. It is good entertainment for all.It will be helpful for local singers.

In my opinion, you should sponser the sports team. Event are good but only for fun for sometimes. Sports team will help for childeren for a long time and it is better for thier future.

Thanks you for asking for our opinion.

Yours faithfully,

Umar saleem

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address all three requested points: you mention the health and affordability benefits of supporting children’s sport, note that concerts offer family entertainment and opportunities for local singers, and clearly recommend sponsoring the team. However, the benefits are stated briefly rather than explained or supported, so the ideas remain limited and under-developed. The letter is also 13 words below the required minimum, which restricts how fully you can develop your points. To strengthen the response, explain how two years of support could help children participate consistently, and give a little more detail about the concerts’ community value before making your recommendation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic, understandable order: it introduces the purpose, discusses the sports team, considers the concerts, and gives a final recommendation. Separate paragraphs help distinguish the main points. However, progression is limited, and links between ideas are often repetitive or abrupt, as in the repeated openings “If you…” and “It is very good.” The sentence “If you pay all these charges. It is very good” also breaks the connection between the condition and its result. Use clearer transitions such as “By contrast” and “For these reasons,” and organise each paragraph around one developed point to make the letter flow more smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a small set of relevant words, including “sponsor,” “sports team,” “entertainment,” and “local singers,” so the reader can understand the main message. However, the vocabulary is limited and several choices or spellings are inaccurate, which makes the letter sound less natural. For example, “musics” is not the usual form in this context, and “for spend money” does not express the purpose idiomatically. Repetition of “very good” also limits precision. Build a wider range of topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations; this will help you describe the benefits more clearly without relying on general phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Most sentences use simple patterns, and the main recommendation is understandable, but grammatical errors are frequent and some sentences are incomplete or incorrectly formed. For example, “I am writing the letter for spend money” needs a purpose structure such as “to comment on how the money should be spent.” “If you pay all these charges. It is very good” incorrectly separates a dependent clause from its main clause. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “it is a very important” and “Event are good.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine related ideas with “because,” “which,” or “so that.”
