Student answer (Band 5.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter on the behalf of my Society and also want to give the suggetion for a funds which you are planing to donate to our area.
Sponsoring the local sports team can be a good option beacuse in our area most of the children love to play games and also participate in local tournaments and won the prizes every year. So,If your farm will sponser them then i can be a good idea to promote your brand because a thousand of people come to watch these soprts every year.
Apart from that, Spending money on concerts is also be a good option. With the support of your money a two open-air concert can be organized which would help to promote the tourisum of our area and also will generate the income for locals.
So, the final decision is in your hand but you can spend on either sports or concerts but i am sure that you will get positive results.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Your faithfully,
Harvinderpreet singh

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address the three requested points: you describe how sponsorship could support children and promote the company, mention tourism and local income as benefits of concerts, and give a closing recommendation. However, the final choice is not clear: “you can spend on either sports or concerts” leaves the company without the specific advice the task asks for. The benefits are also brief and general; for example, you could explain more directly how sponsorship would help the children, or how concerts would benefit residents. The opening refers to “my Society,” but the letter does not explain the society’s role. Develop the benefits with specific details and state firmly which option you recommend and why.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable structure, with an opening, separate paragraphs for the two options, and a closing. Connectors such as “Apart from that” help signal the shift to concerts. However, the progression is limited because the final paragraph repeats both options rather than drawing the discussion toward a clear recommendation. Some links are awkward or unclear, particularly “So,If your farm will sponser them then i can be a good idea,” which makes the relationship between sponsorship and promotion difficult to follow. Use paragraphing to distinguish each benefit and the recommendation, and make the links between cause and result more explicit. Consistent punctuation and clearer references would also make the letter easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “sponsoring,” “local tournaments,” “open-air concert,” “promote,” and “generate the income.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the reader pause. For instance, “a funds” and “a thousand of people” are not natural expressions, while “promote the tourism” does not express the intended benefit clearly. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “suggetion,” “beacuse,” “sponser,” and “tourisum.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common combinations such as “raise the company’s profile” and “boost local tourism.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional structure in “If your farm will sponser them then i can be a good idea.” However, the longer constructions are often faulty, and frequent errors affect clarity. Examples include “I am writing this letter on the behalf,” “a two open-air concert can be organized,” and “concerts is also be a good option.” Subject–verb agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries need more control. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “So,If” and the lowercase “i.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea at a time, then add clauses using correct verb forms—for example, “If your company sponsors the team, it could also promote its brand.”
