Student answer (Band 5.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this to represent the reviews of community members about your decision between sponsoring sports team or concerts.
Sponsoring the sports team will be beneficial for our society. As children and adults participated in event games, they will remain physically and mentally healthy. Moreover,it will give opportunity to other candidates to come up and join the team even from neighbouring areas. It will increase the size of team that teach the value of teamwork and leadership to all the members. Additionally, it may help them to make their carrer bright in sports field.
Apart from this, there are several benefits, as company pay for two open-air concerts. It will allow people from different countries to work and enjoy together. It become a way of enjoyment for human beings. Furthermore, family members can spend more time with their loved ones.
I would suggest some of the ways which would be better to spent money on events. Firstly, agency have to hire some employee for regular cleaning to take complete care of hygiene. Moreover, company should note every expense in their data so they can easily manage all the expenses.
Overall, it is the better step that your company is going to take for our society. We really appreciate your this kind of act for the development of our area.
Yours faithfully,
Jasmeen Kaur

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address the two possible uses of the money and give relevant benefits for each: the team could promote health, teamwork and leadership, while concerts could provide enjoyment and time for families. However, the final part does not make the requested choice. Instead, you suggest hiring cleaning staff and recording expenses, which are not alternatives in the prompt, and your closing praise does not clarify which option you recommend. Some benefits are also unclear or insufficiently explained, such as people from different countries working together at concerts. To strengthen the response, state directly whether the company should sponsor the team or fund the concerts, then support that choice with a clear reason linked to the community.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The letter has a recognisable structure, with separate paragraphs for the sports team, concerts and a concluding section, and signposting such as “Moreover” and “Furthermore” helps show relationships between points. However, the progression becomes unclear when the third body paragraph shifts to cleaning and expense management rather than comparing the two options or stating a preference. Some links are also mechanical, and the opening phrase “represent the reviews” does not clearly introduce the purpose. Use each paragraph to fulfil one part of the task, and make the final paragraph explicitly connect your recommendation to the benefits already discussed. This would create a more consistent line of development.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “physically and mentally healthy,” “teamwork,” “leadership,” and “open-air concerts.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, and there are attempts at more specific expressions such as “neighbouring areas.” However, several phrases are unnatural or imprecise, including “represent the reviews,” “event games,” and “make their carrer bright in sports field.” Spelling and word-form errors such as “carrer” and “employee” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural collocations and precise wording—for example, describe the team as encouraging children to “pursue a career in sport,” and say concerts can “bring the community together.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including a conditional-style idea (“As children and adults participated… they will remain…”) and sentences beginning with “Moreover” and “Additionally.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “It become a way” needs a correctly formed verb, while “company pay” and “agency have to hire” lack appropriate subject–verb agreement and articles. The opening comparison also needs a clearer grammatical structure. Review tense consistency and singular/plural agreement, and proofread punctuation and spacing, as in “Moreover,it.” More accurate control of these patterns would make your ideas easier to follow.
