Student answer (Band 5.0)

Dear sir or madam,

I am writing to formally exress my opinion on your decision regarding donation money for local community.

To begin with, sponsoring the young sport team leads better equipment and facillities for them. They can have branded sports equipment and dress to better perform in tournament. Moreover, young player's family also can have less worry about fund for career in sport.

However, spanding fund on concerts may enjoy all the ages without having restiction. It also generate income for those who prepare concerts such as: organisers, music team, decotion team and many more.Last but not least, concer ts can refresh mind of lots of individuals.

In my opinion, I would like to spend money on better service in community facillities: healthcare, care-work for gray generation and an education facililties. These three categories are important and leads better community if you carefully spend money it.

I looking for your company's decision on funding for general public.

Yours sincerely,

Vijay.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the three requested points: you mention improved equipment and reduced financial pressure for the team, describe concerts as accessible to people of different ages and beneficial to organisers, and state a preference for other community services. However, the final choice does not select either option offered by the company; recommending healthcare and education instead leaves your position on the actual funding decision unclear. The benefits are also brief and only lightly explained—for example, you say concerts can “refresh mind” without showing how this benefits the community. To strengthen the response, choose sponsorship or concerts explicitly, then develop the relevant benefits with specific, task-focused reasons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a recognisable structure, with an opening, separate discussion of the two options, a concluding opinion, and a sign-off. “To begin with,” “However,” and “Moreover” help signal relationships between points. Nevertheless, the progression becomes unclear when the conclusion introduces healthcare, care work, and education rather than choosing between the two proposals. Some connections are also awkward or incomplete, such as “However, spending fund on concerts may enjoy all the ages,” which makes the relationship between the subject and benefit difficult to follow. Use one paragraph for each option and a final paragraph that clearly states your choice and links it to the benefits already discussed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “sponsoring,” “branded sports equipment,” “tournament,” and “generate income.” These choices show some awareness of the subject, but the range is limited and several spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts of the letter difficult to understand. Examples include “exress,” “facillities,” “spanding,” and “decotion team”; phrases such as “fund for career in sport” and “refresh mind” are also unnatural. Aim for accurate, natural combinations, such as “financial support for young athletes,” “concert organisers,” and “provide entertainment and relaxation.” Proofreading spelling and checking how words combine would make your meaning clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response includes mostly simple statements and attempts some longer structures, for example, “Moreover, young player's family also can have less worry about fund for career in sport.” However, control of sentence structure and basic grammar is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the intended meaning hard to follow. In “It also generate income,” the verb does not agree with its subject; “I looking for your company's decision” is missing an auxiliary verb. The sentence beginning “In my opinion” also shifts into a list and ends with an unclear conditional construction. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, plurals, and complete sentence patterns before adding more complex clauses.
