Student answer (Band 5.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I hope you are doingwell .I am writing with reference to your propsal to allocate founds for the benefit of our local community either by sponsoring a children sports team for two years or by financing two open-air concerts.
First of all you sponser alocalchildren;s sports team for two years. This is more benefit eitherto pay for two open-air conserts. This is because consert can enjoy for just few days, people can enjoy and help for income few days , but on the otherhand when you sponser for two years , it brings many happines, for children and parents . children get healthy and active envoirment about for two years.
So in my opinion company should spend the money to sponser a local children;s sports team for two years. This is best development for young generations, and possitive attitude for the local community.I hpoe you would aprove my request and give excellent response.
Kind regard s,
Zahida

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the main purpose of the letter by comparing the two options and clearly recommending sponsorship of the children’s team. You also give relevant reasons: concerts provide enjoyment for a short time, while a team could benefit children and parents over a longer period. However, the benefits of concerts are only briefly mentioned, and the sports-team benefits are general rather than fully explained. The letter would be more complete if you described specific outcomes, such as regular exercise, teamwork, or community participation, and explained how concerts could bring residents together or support local performers. Your recommendation is understandable, but the closing request for approval is less appropriate when the company has asked for public feedback.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: you introduce the purpose, discuss the options, and finish with your recommendation. The contrast between concerts and sponsorship is also signalled with phrases such as “on the other hand” and “So in my opinion.” However, the discussion is compressed into one main paragraph, and the progression is not always clear. For example, “people can enjoy and help for income few days” is difficult to connect to the benefits of concerts. Some linking phrases are used mechanically, and the repeated references to sponsorship make the argument feel circular. Separate the two options into distinct paragraphs and use clearer links to show how each benefit supports your final choice.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “sponsoring,” “local community,” “healthy,” and “active,” so the reader can identify your main ideas. However, the range is limited, and frequent spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the message difficult to follow. Examples include “founds” for “funds,” “propsal” for “proposal,” “conserts,” and “happines.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “help for income few days” and “healthy and active envoirment.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “physical wellbeing,” “teamwork,” “local performers,” and “bring residents together” would help you explain the benefits more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a reason clause beginning “This is because” and a contrast introduced by “but.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences hard to understand. For instance, “This is more benefit either to pay” lacks a clear grammatical comparison, while “consert can enjoy for just few days” has an incorrect verb construction and missing articles. There are also problems with sentence boundaries and punctuation, as in “two years. This is best development.” Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check articles, plurals, and punctuation before submitting.
