Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to provide feedback for money your company want to spend for sports activities for children or two outside concerts. In my perspective, Sponsering children's sports is more effectic as compare to concerts.
To begin with,it will be great support to those talented children who want to play games but because of finacial coditional can not persue their career in sports. Many sports equiments are expensive. This money can be used to buy these equipments. It will not only help to build kids future but also contribute significantly to the nation's development in sports. Additionaly, it also gives your company positive brand visibility in the society.
However, Spending money for two large open air concerts can help to bring families, relatives together regardless of age, background. They also provide a noticeable economic boost to local vendors and businesses.
In the conclusion, I believe the company should choose to sponser the children sports team. It will create legacy for local youth and as well as ensures positive development for our community.
your faithfully,
Manisha

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three requested points and make your recommendation clear: you favour supporting the children’s team. The sports sponsorship benefits are relevant and include helping talented children who lack financial resources, buying equipment, and improving the company’s visibility. You also summarise two distinct concert benefits: bringing people together and supporting local businesses. This coverage meets the task well, but the ideas are not equally developed. For example, the concerts’ benefits are stated briefly, and the recommendation would be more persuasive if you explained why the long-term impact on children outweighs the concerts’ community and economic benefits. The letter’s purpose is clear, though a more formal closing would strengthen its suitability for the company.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall progression: it introduces the choice, discusses sports sponsorship, contrasts it with concerts, and concludes with a recommendation. Paragraphing helps distinguish the two options, while signposts such as “To begin with,” “However,” and “In the conclusion” make the sequence easy to follow. This logical organisation is a strength. To make the flow more natural and flexible, avoid relying on formulaic transitions and connect related points more smoothly. For instance, the move from equipment costs to national sports development could be explained with a clearer link. The final paragraph also repeats the recommendation without adding much support; briefly comparing the lasting benefits of sponsorship with the concerts’ shorter-term impact would create a stronger conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “brand visibility,” “economic boost,” “local vendors,” and “legacy,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the letter less polished: “Sponsering,” “effectic,” “finacial coditional,” and “equiments” should be corrected. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “provide feedback for money” and “as compare to concerts.” Aim for accurate collocations and consistent formal wording, for example, “comment on how the funds should be spent” and “more effective than funding concerts.” The range is sufficient to discuss the topic, but greater accuracy and more natural phrasing are needed for clearer, more precise expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast introduced by “However” and the structure “It will not only help … but also contribute …”. Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “your company want” needs subject–verb agreement (“your company wants”), and “can not persue” would be more accurately formed as “cannot pursue.” The sentence beginning “In my perspective” also has an incomplete comparison structure, while “It will create legacy … and as well as ensures” combines incompatible forms. Review agreement, articles, and parallel structures, and proofread punctuation and spacing after commas. More consistently accurate sentences would make your argument easier to read while preserving the range you are attempting.
