Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Sir or Madam,
Regarding to your company generous support to our community, i would like to express my point of view in both supporting childern's sports and out door concerts.
First, sponsoring sports of young generation provides a few advantange including buiding up children's confidence, a chance to learn about team work and disciplining, also it is basic to create a good health.
Second, the concerts are a great entertainment for a wide in age group from 16 to mid 40's. the benefits are helping people to be relex, support artistis or bands, lastly provide people to join a propriate activity.
If i need to make a final decision to chose only a single choice, I would rather hand up for the children's sports team. My reason is childrend who raise up with great life foundermental tend to be excellent adults.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you describe benefits of sponsoring children’s sport, mention advantages of concerts, and clearly recommend the sports team. The reasons—confidence, teamwork and health, for example—are relevant, but they are listed rather than explained, and the claim that children may become “excellent adults” is broad and unclear. The concert section also gives only brief benefits, without explaining how the events would benefit the wider community or the company. The letter is 142 words, so it does not meet the 150-word minimum. Develop each point with a short explanation or example, and add a suitable closing to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an opening, separate paragraphs for the two options, and a final recommendation. “First,” “Second,” and “If I need to make a final decision” help the reader follow the progression, so the main message is easy to identify. However, the linking is somewhat mechanical, and ideas within the paragraphs are mostly presented as lists rather than connected explanations. The opening also moves directly into the topic without a clear transition into the requested feedback. To strengthen the flow, connect each benefit to its effect and use a wider range of natural transitions. A brief closing sentence would also give the letter a more complete structure.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “sponsoring,” “confidence,” “team work,” “entertainment,” and “artists or bands,” which makes your main ideas understandable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or spellings make parts of the letter difficult to interpret, such as “hand up for,” “life foundermental,” and “a propriate activity.” Some expressions are also unnatural, including “wide in age group” and “support artists.” Aim for precise collocations and check spelling carefully; these improvements would make your meaning clearer and more appropriate for a formal letter. You can also vary repeated general terms such as “benefits” with more specific language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer structures, including “If I need to make a final decision…, I would rather…” This shows some effort to vary sentence forms, and the overall meaning can generally be followed. However, grammatical control is limited, and errors occur in sentence construction, articles, capitalization, and agreement. For example, “Regarding to your company generous support” has an incorrect preposition and possessive form, while “the concerts are…” begins a sentence without a capital letter. The list beginning “including building up…” is also not smoothly integrated into its sentence. Practise forming complete sentences with accurate articles and possessives, and proofread capitalization and punctuation.
