Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am grateful that you asked my feedback on spending some amount of money from your comapny, either for children sports team, or for open-air concerts.
Firstly, I would like to say that sponsoring the sports team will help many children to find their hidden talent. Youngsters will become more physically fit, which will benefit not only their health but also make them menatlly strong. Furthermore, due to team work, youth will expand their communication and management skills.
On the other hand, if open-air concert will happen in locality then many people will get benefit from it. Local vendors and other inhabitants get opportunity to get work. In fact local people will get chance to see famous artists.
From my perspectives, organisation should pay for sports team rather than open air concerts. The core reason behind it, because more advantages occurs if children will get opportunity to play in the team. This activity will develope their positive attitude towards sports and their fitness. Overall, sports will help to shape a children life.
Thank you for this opportunity. I hope you will find my opinion interesting.
Yours faithfully,
Yash Patel.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three points and make your recommendation clear: you favour sponsoring the children’s team. The benefits you identify—fitness, health, confidence, communication and management skills—are relevant, and you also mention work opportunities for local vendors and access to famous artists as benefits of the concerts. Your position is consistent, and the final paragraph gives a reason for your choice. To strengthen the response further, develop the concert benefits with a little more explanation and make the comparison more specific—for example, explain why the team’s benefits would last longer or reach a particular group. The sports-team ideas are relevant but sometimes general, so a concrete example would make the support more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear progression: an opening, a paragraph on the sports team, a contrasting paragraph on concerts, and a recommendation followed by a polite closing. Signposts such as “Firstly,” “On the other hand,” and “From my perspectives” help readers follow the shift between ideas. Paragraphing is appropriate, and the recommendation is easy to locate. Some links between points are a little mechanical, however, and the final paragraph repeats the earlier claims about children’s fitness and the benefits of sport rather than drawing the comparison together. You could improve the flow by connecting each benefit to the company’s decision and using a concise concluding comparison instead of restating points.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “sponsoring,” “physically fit,” “communication and management skills,” and “local vendors.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “hidden talent” and “positive attitude.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “asked my feedback,” “get benefit,” “from my perspectives,” and “shape a children life.” Spelling errors such as “comapny,” “menatlly,” and “develope” also reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, but they limit precision and naturalness. Focus on learning common phrases for giving feedback and describing community benefits, and proofread spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast introduced by “On the other hand” and the relative clause in “which will benefit not only their health but also make them…”. Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur. For example, “if open-air concert will happen” has an incorrect conditional structure, while “more advantages occurs” has a subject–verb agreement problem. Articles and plurals also need attention in phrases such as “a children life” and “the sports team.” Practise forming conditional sentences and checking agreement, articles, and singular or plural nouns. More accurate control of these patterns would make your meaning smoother and more professional.
