Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to give you a feedback.
To commence with, I think you should spend money on sponsoring childern's team for two years because it will help children's to improve their skills and fullfill their hobies. For instance, people love playing cricket which is a national game of our country and if they will achieve their goals, it will be benefit for your company in terms of publicity.
Furthermore, the benefits of paying for concerts will help the people to adopt new environment and relax their minds as well. As I live in rular area and we never had such type of concerts before and I believe, this will entertain us properly. Paying for the concerts, will also help you in getting a good amount of money because the people will buy tickets and generate good income for you.
I think company should spend the money of concerts because the company will generatye good money and in future may use this money to support children's again.
yours faithfully,
Tarun

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points and make your recommendation clear: you first favour sponsoring the team, then conclude that the company should fund concerts. The benefits of sponsorship include helping children improve their skills and gaining publicity, while the concert section mentions entertainment and ticket income. However, the change in recommendation is not explained, and the claim that concerts will generate income is not clearly connected to the company’s decision to pay for them. Some ideas are also only briefly developed; for example, the benefits to children and the community could be made more specific. Explain why the chosen option is preferable and keep your position consistent throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a recognisable structure: an opening, separate discussion of the two options, and a concluding recommendation. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore” and “For instance” help show relationships between ideas. However, the progression is weakened by the shift from recommending sponsorship in the first body paragraph to choosing concerts in the conclusion, without a transition or explanation. Some connections are also mechanical, and the final sentence introduces the idea of using future income to support children without developing how this follows from the concert proposal. Organise the paragraphs around each option, then use the conclusion to compare them and state one consistent choice.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main ideas, with relevant terms such as “sponsoring,” “publicity,” “tickets,” and “generate good income.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, which makes parts of the letter less natural. For example, “adopt new environment” does not clearly express the intended benefit of attending concerts, and “fullfill their hobies” is both misspelled and imprecise. There are also spelling errors such as “childern’s,” “rular,” and “generatye.” Aim for more precise phrases and check spelling carefully; this will make your meaning clearer and your tone more appropriate for a formal letter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple sentences and some longer structures, including a conditional idea in “if they will achieve their goals” and a reason introduced by “because.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in sentence patterns, agreement, and articles. For example, “give you a feedback” uses an unnecessary article, “help children’s to improve” has an incorrect possessive form, and “I think company should” needs an article. The conditional “if they will achieve” also needs a more suitable verb form. Work on accurate sentence patterns and vary complex structures while checking articles, verb forms, and punctuation, particularly around introductory phrases.
