Student answer (Band 5.0)

Dear sir,

I am writing to this letter about my opions ragading a local children:s sports team for two years and open air concents which is sponsor from you for public.

As a sport person, I know about the advantages of sports team because it is good for pupils . with the help of helper they learn more sports games, due to this they become healthy as well as active because everyone knows that games are required for bodies and they can do physical exercise.

Furthermore, if you oraganize concerts in open area then they get knowledge about environment as well as take fresh air which is beneficial for their strength . when children participate these such a concerts then they will try to become winner .

According to my opinion , your company should spend money on these events. It is better to children's growth . My society also want that you should do this so I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Your Faithfully,

Harpreet Kaur

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the three requested points in a basic way: you mention health and activity as benefits of supporting the team, describe fresh air and participation as possible concert benefits, and recommend spending money on “these events.” However, the final recommendation does not clearly choose between the two options, and the benefits of concerts are not explained as benefits to the wider public or the company. The sports-team points are also repetitive and need clearer development—for example, explain how two years of sponsorship could provide regular coaching or equipment. A more definite choice, supported by specific reasons, would make the response more complete and purposeful as a letter.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable sequence: an opening, a paragraph about the sports team, one about concerts, and a closing recommendation. Connectors such as “Furthermore” and “According to my opinion” help signal movement between ideas. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited, and some links are unclear: the shift from concerts to children becoming winners does not explain the connection. The recommendation also refers vaguely to “these events,” leaving the reader unsure which option you support. Use clearer topic sentences and link each benefit to its effect; then state your choice directly before the closing. Paragraphing is helpful, but the ideas need more logical development.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “sponsor,” “sports team,” “concerts,” “physical exercise,” and “fresh air,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors make parts difficult to interpret, such as “opions ragading,” “concents,” and “oraganize.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “with the help of helper” and “participate these such a concerts.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “fund coaching and equipment” or “attract local audiences” would help you explain the options more clearly and avoid repeating general words like “good” and “beneficial.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer clauses, for example, “because it is good for pupils” and “when children participate… then they will try to become winner.” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but the range remains limited and complex sentences are often not controlled accurately. Errors include “I am writing to this letter,” “if you oraganize concerts… then they get knowledge,” and “My society also want,” where sentence patterns, articles, or subject–verb agreement need attention. Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, as in “. with the help.” Practise building accurate sentences with one clear main clause and a correctly formed supporting clause before attempting longer structures.
