Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the 'need for land' as a disadvantage is not fully logical or well-supported, as it does not directly link to the aging population in a convincing way. The positive points regarding historical knowledge and moral values are more relevant but could be expanded with more sophisticated reasoning. The essay covers all parts of the task, but the depth of analysis is inconsistent, which prevents it from reaching a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'The main attraction of this phenomenon' are used incorrectly to introduce a point, and there are issues with referencing (e.g., 'this circumstances'). While the progression of ideas is generally clear, the transitions between sentences sometimes feel forced or unnatural, which occasionally hinders the flow of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'uncountable elder masses', 'uplift' (used incorrectly to mean increase), and 'harvested certain jungles'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. While the student attempts to use some academic vocabulary, the lack of control over these items suggests a limited range. More attention should be paid to natural collocations and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'one school of thought argue'), incorrect article usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'it effect negatively to the government'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing after commas and periods. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to demonstrate a lack of control over complex structures.
