Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to address the prompt adequately. While it introduces the topic, the second half of the essay consists of repetitive, nonsensical characters ('k k k...'), which means the core of the argument is not developed. The prompt asks for an evaluation of whether advantages outweigh disadvantages, but the essay stops before providing a balanced discussion or a clear position. The ideas presented in the first paragraph are underdeveloped and lack the necessary depth required for an academic task. Consequently, the response does not meet the requirements for a full discussion of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay lacks logical progression. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the sudden shift to repetitive characters in the second half destroys any sense of coherence. Cohesive devices are used in a very basic and repetitive manner, such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand', but these are not followed by meaningful content. The structure is severely compromised by the lack of coherent text, making it impossible to follow a logical flow of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. The student uses basic phrases like 'living long life' and 'creates problem', which are insufficient for an academic essay. There are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'survive their lives more' and 'old age people'. The range of vocabulary is not broad enough to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands, and the inclusion of non-lexical characters at the end significantly detracts from the overall quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The grammar is characterized by frequent errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'Now days' (should be 'Nowadays'), 'some people says' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'they helps' (subject-verb agreement error). The sentence structures are simple and lack the complexity expected at higher levels. Punctuation is also inconsistent. The frequent errors in basic grammar, combined with the lack of complex structures, indicate a limited control over the language.
