Student answer (Band 5.0)

I believe people are now living longer than ever before have more advantages.

beacuse elder person has more experience of life they can easy guide the younger people how to spend their life. According to my prespective older citizen have more knowledge of everything .They faced all over crises of their life and they can eassily advice to other how to save their self from it . Addicitionaly which thing will be do to save theirself.

In contrast old citzen also have some disadvantage beacuse in many deveolper countries their all over expense depend on goverment and their goverment bear all over expense of them. Consequently their highly cost are occur on their goverment to take care of thems. Moreover many people who live longer may be retries offices so goverment bear the pension also. The goverment can also offends their medicial treatment free of cost. Almost the highly potions of the country ecomices utilized on old citzen. Due to these fact the goverment faced

financial pressure on theirself .Futhermore a siginficant proportion of people have on their on house the goverment established many shutters for them to stay their when they have no home to stay. Addicionaly the goverment created many sports where people can eat food free of cost.

In conclusion, although an aging population can create several challenges for governments, particularly in terms of healthcare, pensions and public spending, I believe that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Older people can make valuable contributions to society through their knowledge, experience and guidance, while also providing important support to younger generations

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of an aging population, culminating in a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, as seen in the concluding paragraph: 'I believe that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.' However, the development of ideas is limited by frequent grammatical and lexical errors that obscure the points being made. For instance, the discussion on economic impact mentions that 'government bear all over expense', which touches on a relevant idea, but it lacks specific development or accurate supporting details. The introduction is very brief and contains major structural flaws ('I believe people are now living longer than ever before have more advantages'), meaning the position is not consistently clear throughout. While all parts of the prompt are touched upon, the ideas are under-developed, placing this response at Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text is divided into paragraphs, including an introduction, body paragraphs addressing disadvantages and advantages respectively, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by poor cohesive devices and mechanical phrasing. Words like 'beacuse', 'Addicitionaly', and 'Futhermore' are either misspelled or used awkwardly to link sentences. Referencing is often unclear, such as in the phrase 'which thing will be do to save theirself', where the antecedent is ambiguous. Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas is disjointed—for example, the transition between the discussion of healthcare costs and government shelters lacks smooth connection. Although the overall structure is visible, the execution of cohesion is inadequate and repetitive, fitting the Band 5 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses a limited and often repetitive range of vocabulary. Words like 'government', 'expense', and 'people' are repeated frequently throughout the text. There are numerous word choice and spelling errors that stem from a lack of control over less common items, such as 'deveolper countries' (developed countries), 'offends' (affords or offers), 'potions' (portion), and 'ecomices' (economy). Phrasing is often unnatural, as seen in 'retries offices' (retire from offices) and 'shutters' (shelters). These lexical errors and spelling mistakes cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and impede communication at times, reflecting the characteristics of a Band 4.5 to 5.0 lexical performance, firmly landing on Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

Grammatical control is weak throughout the response. The text contains a very limited range of structures, and attempts at complex sentences are almost uniformly faulty. Examples of persistent errors include subject-verb agreement issues ('elder person has', 'old citzen also have'), incorrect verb forms ('which thing will be do'), and basic sentence structure breakdowns ('I believe people are now living longer than ever before have more advantages'). Punctuation is also problematic, with missing periods and erratic capitalization. Frequent errors in grammar and sentence construction cause considerable difficulty for the reader and distort meaning in several places, which aligns closely with the Band 4 descriptors.
