Student answer (Band 5.5)
Aging population is an important for our country and its natural process. In multiple countries people are now living longer than ever before but some argues that aging population creates problems while others agree with notion like there are beneficial for society if elderly people are living. however, I believe that elder people are beneficial for our society.
There are multiple major advantages of elder people living in society. for instance people those who are old they have an experience of life. they guide their youngers what to do and how to do. as well as share their whole life experience how to live, behave with others and how to earn money for example a grandfather teach their grandson how to do business and how to solve problems, treat their elders.
On the other hand, There are some people argue that aging population creates problems for governments. for example elder people have major health issues and they even do not earn money but on them government spend money. according to them they are just waste because they are useless.
In my opinion I strongly agree with advantages for example elder people are every intelligent and wise .My grandfather is 90 years old he can not do any kind of hard-work or even earn money but the most important thing is that he is a wisest man in my family and give me lessons according to their life experience. That why I believe aging population outweigh the disadvantages.
In conclusion, Many countries like India, Pakistan, China etc. people are living longer than ever before due to the environment and diet so in view of this there are some benefits of aging and so argues that are disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall view that the benefits outweigh the disadvantages, and you address both sides by discussing older people’s experience and the costs of their healthcare. The examples about a grandfather teaching business and your 90-year-old grandfather make the argument relevant. However, the response only partly develops the comparison asked for: the disadvantages are presented briefly, and the claim that older people are “just waste” is attributed to others without examining whether this is fair or how governments might manage the costs. The conclusion also introduces claims about countries, environment and diet that are not explained and ends unclearly. Develop both sides more fully and make the final judgement explicit. The response meets the required length; nine words copied from the task prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages, a personal example and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression is uneven: the personal example repeats the earlier point about experience rather than advancing the comparison, and the final sentence is difficult to follow. Some links are mechanical or unclear, including “for example” repeated within the advantages paragraph and “That why” before the final judgement. Organise the body around distinct points, use clear references to connect examples to claims, and ensure each paragraph leads logically to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “aging population,” “health issues,” “life experience,” and “government.” The personal example also gives the discussion some specificity. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning awkward: “elder people are every intelligent,” “their youngers,” and “government spend money on them.” The phrase “they are just waste” is also too blunt and imprecise for an academic argument. Aim for more precise expressions and vary repeated terms such as “elder people” and “experience.” Check word forms and collocations so that your intended meaning is consistently clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “but some argues” and examples introduced with “for instance.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries often make the writing difficult to read. For example, “some argues” should use a plural verb, while “a grandfather teach” needs a correctly formed verb; “Aging population is an important” is also incomplete as written. Several sentences run together or lack clear punctuation, particularly in the first body paragraph and the conclusion. Practise building accurate complete sentences first, then combine them with subordinate clauses. Review subject–verb agreement, articles, and consistent punctuation when editing.
