Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people say an aging population creates problem for government which is wrong. People are now living longer than before which is very beneficial for us and our society. I am completely agree with this statement.
From my perspective, aged people are a blessing. Even though they are old they help us in our everyday life. In our husty busty and hectic life, most of the young people are busy in their offices and business. They don't have time for their children. The main benefit of having an aged person in our home is that they can take care of our child.
Another benefit of an elderly person is that he has more experience about life. In our life, they can give us a good piece of advice. They encourage us in every field of life. A group of elderly people can make a society and people living in it successful. They can do some of those things in which we are not interesting. For instance, gardening.
Elderly people are filled with advantages in return they just want some care and our love. They can teach our children kindness and respect. Grandparents affects children behaviour even from their childhood. Usually, children interacts with elderly and aged people more than young ones.
From my perspective, the advantages of aging population outweigh their few disadvantages. In this case we should support them and look after them. They just require love, kindness, respect and time.
Taking everything into account, aging is not a crime and an aging population does not create any problem for government. We should respect them and inlight ourselves from them

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear overall view that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and you support it with relevant points about childcare, life experience, advice, and teaching children respect. However, the task asks you to weigh both sides, while the response largely rejects the idea that an ageing population creates problems and does not explain any disadvantages, such as increased healthcare or pension costs. Several benefits are asserted rather than developed: for example, the claim that older people help society succeed is not explained beyond gardening. To strengthen the response, acknowledge at least one genuine challenge and explain why the benefits still outweigh it, using a specific example or clearer reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs presenting benefits, and a conclusion that restates your position. Paragraphs generally stay focused, and phrases such as “Another benefit” help signal a new point. However, progression is limited because the ideas are mostly listed rather than linked through explanation, and the disadvantages are not developed as a contrasting part of the argument. Some connections are unclear, such as “They can do some of those things in which we are not interesting. For instance, gardening.” Repeated references to “from my perspective” and repeated conclusions about older people also make the organisation feel repetitive. Build clearer links between each claim and its example, and use a paragraph to weigh the opposing view.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “elderly,” “experience,” “advice,” “kindness,” and “respect,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts at more expressive phrasing, such as describing older people as “a blessing.” However, the range is limited and several choices or collocations are inaccurate or informal, which sometimes makes meaning unclear. “Husty busty” is not an appropriate expression here, and “not interesting” does not convey the intended meaning in the gardening example. Spelling errors such as “inlight” and “affects” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some complex sentences, including “Even though they are old they help us in our everyday life,” and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, the range is limited, and frequent errors in basic sentence patterns and agreement make the writing less controlled. Examples include “I am completely agree” (the verb form should be “completely agree”), “Grandparents affects” (subject–verb agreement), and “children interacts” (plural agreement). There are also problems with articles and number, as in “take care of our child,” and with sentence construction in “A group of elderly people can make a society and people living in it successful.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add complex structures with careful agreement and punctuation.
