Student answer (Band 5.5)
The increasing population of geretic individual has concerned many people. General public is opinionated about the affect of older adults on the government. Some believe that they are problematic to them whereas some opposse the idea and suggest they beneficial to the society.
In my opinion, the geretic individuals are both important to the society as well as have some negative effect on the government.
Mostly old people tend to relax and are not able to provide the society certain benfits hence becoming burden. They are incapable of doing any work so they are financially strained thus increasing the economical issues for government. They usually need more medical attention and use those facilities the most. This causes welfare state's healthcare budget to decline.
On the other hand, the older adults are crucial for society to function and progress. They have more experience and knowledge in any kind work therefore they are much needed to train new generation in the respective fields.
They can also be helpful in many ways . They can be asked to do welfare works within their capabilities to benefit the society. They can help around household chores as well as can babyait for their children to keep them at ease while they work and become successful in the society.
In my point of view, the government should introduce programmes that can provide geretic people help and can gain benefit from them by using their capabilities. It will make society more better place and they will be given sense of security and achievement.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and give a clear overall view: older people can create costs for governments, but they also contribute through their experience and support for families. Relevant points include increased healthcare needs and the value of older adults in training younger workers. However, the response does not fully answer how far the advantages outweigh the disadvantages: the conclusion recommends programmes but does not clearly weigh the two sides or state which is stronger. Some ideas also need fuller explanation—for example, the claim that older people are unable to work is broad, and the proposed welfare work is not illustrated with a specific example. Develop and compare your main points more explicitly to make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on disadvantages, a paragraph on benefits, and a concluding recommendation. The contrast marker “On the other hand” helps signal the shift between sides, and the ideas within each paragraph are generally related. However, progression is sometimes mechanical, with repeated openings such as “They can also” and “In my point of view.” Some links between claims are not fully clear: the discussion moves from older people’s experience to household chores and babysitting without explaining how these examples support the overall comparison. Improve cohesion by using clearer references and linking each example directly to the argument about whether benefits outweigh costs.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “financially strained,” “healthcare budget,” “experience and knowledge,” and “sense of security and achievement.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, but the range and control are limited by repeated general terms such as “society,” “government,” and “help,” as well as inaccurate or awkward expressions. For instance, “geretic individual” is not an appropriate term, “benefits” is misspelled as “benfits,” and “the healthcare budget to decline” does not clearly express the intended effect. Choose standard topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations. More precise phrases such as “older adults,” “public expenditure,” and “contribute to the community” would make the argument clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and some longer structures, including “They have more experience and knowledge … therefore they are much needed to train new generation.” The main message is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors and punctuation problems reduce accuracy. Examples include “they beneficial to the society,” which needs a verb, and “as well as can babyait,” where the structure after “as well as” is not parallel. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention: “train new generation” requires an article or plural form, and several sentences run together after full stops, as in “progress.They.” Practise building accurate complex sentences, checking subject–verb structure and parallel forms, and leaving spaces after punctuation.
