Student answer (Band 5.0)

In a few countries, life span of people is increased compared to deacdes ago. Some believe that aged people would create hurdles for government where other say that there are many good outcomes if society has more elder people. I partially agree with the statement that this condition has more advantages than disadvantages.

To begin with the fact, age is not controlled by any of the human activities, people are aging more that would create more peaceful environment providing young ones a better support and guide. In additon, instead of creating problems, they will help the government by doing normal work and helping to nullify the poverty. For instance, elder man will do work with more focus and patience where an adult would not be responsible for it. Furthermore, they could help this generation to be motivated in tough time.

On the other hand, older people would make life very slow at some extent. Reagardless their physical fitness, their mind would not cope up with these new era of speed. Moreover, their physical attire would not match today. Marriage and dating life of younster would be bounded as they will feel noticed by older citizens.

In my perspective, they create emotional and warm environment for adults and thier children. Despite being old, they would be rich with knowledge and life lessons. Society should have more people of this age.

To summarize, not only every old one have less energy and physical activeness but also inability to hear less. They equally stands out and holds importance for every right for human.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both sides of the question and state a position with “I partially agree,” then conclude that older people bring emotional warmth and valuable life lessons. These points are relevant, but the extent to which advantages outweigh disadvantages is not made clear or consistently argued. The benefits—such as offering guidance and helping reduce poverty—are asserted rather than explained, and the example about an older man working more responsibly is not developed. The disadvantages about slower lifestyles and dating are also unclear and not convincingly linked to government or society-wide effects. To strengthen the response, explain which side is more significant and support each main point with a specific, plausible example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “To summarize” help signal these stages. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: several ideas are introduced in quick succession without explanation, and the shift from government problems to dating life is abrupt. The final paragraph also introduces hearing difficulties without connecting this point to the argument or resolving the comparison of advantages and disadvantages. Some linking phrases feel mechanical, while references such as “this condition” are not very precise. Group related ideas, explain their connections, and make the conclusion directly reflect the position established in the introduction.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “poverty,” “physical fitness,” “motivated,” and “life lessons,” and use some phrases to express contrast. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make parts difficult to understand. For example, “physical attire” does not express the intended idea, while “their mind would not cope up with these new era of speed” is awkward and unclear. There are also spelling errors such as “deacdes,” “additon,” and “Reagardless,” alongside imprecise expressions such as “normal work.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and topic-specific wording—for example, describing older people’s “experience” or “contribution to the workforce”—and proofread spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple sentences and attempts at more complex structures, including “Despite being old, they would be rich with knowledge and life lessons.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in agreement and sentence construction appear in “people are aging more that would create” and “They equally stands out and holds importance.” Other examples include “every old one have less energy” and the unclear construction “not only … but also inability to hear less.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Practise building accurate sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement, articles, plurals, and parallel structures before submitting.
