Student answer (Band 5.0)

This is ongoing debate that some individuals said that the growing age made the problems for policy makers and other argued that they are benficial for society. I believe elder people gave the advantages through their experiences.

On the one hand, some habitats thought that the elder people creating the dificulties for government for example, the grand people wants the extra care and facilities for living moreover, they wants the pension, insurance and health benefits i think these kind of things are makes the problem for government.

On the other hand, those people asked that they are benefit for society i think these individuals are giving the solution through their experience. For example, elder population have the practical knowledge about their field and gives the best advises to more development and also tell the best solution to overcome the problems because they live their life in the field and go through the difficulties already.

In conclusion, these people are benfits on long term solutions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address both sides of the question and state a position: older people offer advantages through their experience. The examples of pension, insurance and healthcare costs, and of older people sharing practical knowledge, are relevant. However, the discussion is very brief and the ideas are mostly asserted rather than explained; for instance, you do not show how their advice benefits society or weigh that benefit against government costs. The conclusion, “these people are benefits on long term solutions,” does not clearly answer how far the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The response also contains 164 words, below the required 250, so there is not enough development to address the task fully. Extend each main point with explanation and a specific example, then give a clear comparative judgement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs introduced by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the two sides of the discussion. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are joined mechanically with “moreover,” “and,” and “because.” The first body paragraph, for example, lists care, facilities, pensions and health benefits without showing how these points connect. Some references, such as “these individuals,” are understandable but could be more precise. Develop one central idea at a time, use linking phrases to show cause and contrast, and make the conclusion follow clearly from the comparison in the body.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “policy makers,” “pension,” “insurance,” “practical knowledge,” and “overcome the problems.” These choices make the general subject clear. However, the range is limited, and noticeable spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the message harder to follow: “benficial,” “dificulties,” and “advises” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “growing age,” “grand people,” and “these people are benfits.” Aim for accurate topic-specific expressions and check spelling and word forms. For example, refer to an “ageing population” and “older people,” and use “advice” as an uncountable noun when describing guidance.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a sentence explaining that older people can offer solutions because they have experienced difficulties. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement and articles. For example, “the elder people creating the dificulties” lacks a correctly formed verb, while “they wants” and “elder population have” show agreement problems. The sentence “these kind of things are makes the problem” combines incompatible verb forms. These errors can make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then join them with subordinate clauses; check subject–verb agreement and use one correctly formed main verb in each clause.
