Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You identify both sides of the issue, mentioning older people’s experience and advice as benefits and the difficulty of supporting an aging population as a disadvantage. However, the response does not answer the central question: it gives no clear judgement about whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The ideas are also very briefly stated; for example, “they have lot of experience” is not developed with an explanation or a relevant example, and the disadvantage is left vague. The response is 156 words, below the required 250, so several parts of the task remain insufficiently addressed. To improve, state your position clearly, explain each main point, and support it with specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
Your response has a basic paragraph structure: the opening introduces the topic, the next paragraph discusses longer life and possible benefits, and the final paragraph turns to disadvantages. The transition “But” signals a contrast, helping the reader follow the change in focus. However, the overall progression is limited, and the final paragraph ends without a conclusion or a clear answer to the question. Connections between ideas are sometimes unclear, particularly in “they give them advice according to their knowledge,” where the pronouns make it difficult to identify who is advising whom. Develop a clearer sequence—position, advantages, disadvantages, and conclusion—and use linking phrases to show how each point relates to your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “aging population,” “medical facilities,” “life span,” and “rules and regulations,” so the reader can understand the general subject. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. For instance, “good food which are tested in labortries” does not express the intended idea clearly, while “handle them” is vague when referring to the needs of older people. Spelling errors such as “qualitly,” “thier,” and “labortries” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise vocabulary for discussing public services, healthcare, and older people’s contributions, and check spelling and natural word combinations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, such as “Nowadays people have longer life span instead of past because of better medical facilities and clean environment.” This shows an effort to explain causes, but the sentence patterns are often inaccurate, and the range remains limited. Errors include subject–verb agreement in “some people believe … and some thinks,” article and plural problems in “a longer life span,” and the unclear construction “which are tested … either it is good or not.” The final sentence also has an unclear pronoun reference. These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand your meaning. Practise accurate sentence patterns for comparisons and cause-and-effect explanations, then check agreement, articles, and punctuation.
