Student answer (Band 7.0)
In this modern era people use different parenting approach to raise their children. Some parents insists their child to get involve into team activities in their leisure time, while other advices them to do solo activities. I believe both of this approaches are equally important to their overall character development.
Firstly, group activities helps children to acquire some essential traits like co-ordination. This is the single most important attribute that is required when working in a team to accomplish collective goals. For example, in football a player doesn't want to pass the ball to his other teammates the probability of them winning is very less because it is team sport where players puts effort to make their team win. Secondly, working with a group of people also help a child to understand the value of others. For instance, if they are building a leggo car and every body has different parts they have to come together to complete the project. If one of them doesn't co-operate the project will never be completed.
On the other hand, spending time alone or leaning individual sports have its own perks. This kind of activities helps kids to boost self-confidence. When they learn mixed martial arts, they become self-sufficient and it is hard to shake their confidence. Moreover, staying isolated also increases creative and critical thinking, this can kind of qualities help people to achieve their goals in both personal and professional life.
In conclusion, both types of parenting method are equally beneficial in the overall growth of a child. As team work will improve their co-ordination and compasion. Similarly solo activities can help a child to increase their self confidence and creative thinking.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both viewpoints and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of coordination in team sports and the development of self-confidence through individual activities. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited; for instance, the example of the 'leggo car' is a bit simplistic, and the explanation of how solo activities lead to 'creative and critical thinking' could be more deeply explored. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is supported by more detailed reasoning or more sophisticated examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two viewpoints. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and flow, such as the slightly awkward phrasing in the introduction regarding 'both of this approaches'. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow throughout the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'co-ordination', 'collective goals', and 'self-sufficient'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'get involve into' (should be 'get involved in') and 'leaning individual sports' (likely meant 'learning'). Additionally, 'leggo' is a misspelling of the brand name 'Lego'. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the essay from reaching a higher band score for lexical range and precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and pluralization, such as 'parents insists', 'group activities helps', and 'this can kind of qualities'. There are also minor punctuation and article usage errors. While the writer attempts complex sentences, the control over these structures is inconsistent. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic agreement errors and ensuring that plural nouns and verbs match correctly.
